Jim Brock

Jim is the co-author of Butterflies of North America (2003. Houghton Mifflin) and of Butterflies of Southeastern Arizona (1991. Sonoran Arthropod Studies Institute, Tucson) and of A Field Guide to Butterfly Caterpillars (2004. Oxford University Press). He has been studying butterflies for more than 30 years, especially focusing on learning the life histories and caterpillar foodplants of butterflies.

Alana Edwards

Alana is the co-founder of the NABA-Atala chapter (in West Palm Beach, Florida) and co-creator of the acclaimed Edwards Butterfly Garden in Del Ray Beach, Florida. An avid butterflier for the past 12 years, she was the lead coordinator for the United States Fish and Wildlife Service sponsored survey of rare and endangered South Florida butterflies conducted by NABA.

Jeffrey Glassberg

Jeff  is a director and president of the North American Butterfly Association. He has followed butterflies since he was 5 years old living on Long Island, New York. He detoured to take an undergraduate degree in civil engineering and a Ph.D. in molecular genetics, then worked at Stanford University and Rockefeller University. In 1981 he invented DNA fingerprinting and cofounded a biotechnology company (Lifecodes) that commercialized this technique. Jeff is a past-president of Xerces Society, the author of the Butterflies through Binoculars field guide series, the editor of the through Binoculars series (including Caterpillars, Dragonflies and Wildflowers) and the author of Butterflies of North America (Barnes & Noble). His book A Swift Guide to the Butterflies of Mexico and Central America is currently in press. He graduated from the Columbia University School of Law in 1993 and is a member of the New York bar.

Ro Wauer

Ro retired from the National Park Service after 32 and moved to Victoria, Texas.  He has since spent time traveling and writing nature books.  Two of his 21 books are Butterflies of West Texas Parks and Preserves (2002) and Butterflies of the Lower Rio Grande Valley (2004).  A Texas butterfly site guide is in press.  Ro is the compiler for a dozen NABA 4th of July Counts in Texas.
